A New Chemistry for an Old Foe: Managing annual bluegrass weevil with the insect growth regulator Suprado
Registration is open: https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/3325811/CCD49A3634B2A10CDC599FE97946350B
The annual bluegrass weevil (ABW) has been the most destructive insect pest of short-mown turfgrass in northeastern North America for more than 50 years. In the last three years, ABW populations have been on the move with new detections in Louisville, KY, southern Indiana, and Wisconsin, highlighting the potential for movement of the insect into new regions through accidental introductions. Register for the webinar and learn about a new chemistry and product coming soon to the turfgrass industry and hear about the latest research conducted at Penn State University that’s behind it, including insecticide trial results and laboratory data.
Webinar Objectives:
Cover ABW seasonal lifecycle in relation to management
Discuss ABW behavior and how it affects control practices
Provide an overview of insecticide trials (field trials)
Discuss potential uses of Suprado to limit egg laying
Discuss best management practices for Suprado based on chemical attributes
